Buri (Seriola quinqeradiata, also known as Hamachi) is a representative fish of Japan that is only found in Japanese coastal waters, and as a result, it is not widely known worldwide. However, due to the increasing popularity of Japanese cuisine in recent years, its existence has become more widely recognized. Kurose Buri continues to grow as a branded yellowtail with a significant following in Japan. A traditional fish essential to Japanese cuisine

Buri mainly inhabits the northwestern Pacific Ocean near Japan which has been an important food fish for the Japanese people since ancient times, and is deeply rooted in the culture and industry of each region.

Kampachi(Seriola dumerili) and Hiramasa(Seriola lalandi) which categorised as same familiy have different properties, and it is characterized by its fatty flesh. In addition, it has the highest production volume among fish farming in Japan and thus, widely provideded not only in Japan but also overseas.
Kurose Suisan is one of the largest yellowtail aquaculture companies in Japan.
