Buri mainly inhabits the northwestern Pacific Ocean near Japan which has been an important food fish for the Japanese people since ancient times, and is deeply rooted in the culture and industry of each region.
Kampachi(Seriola dumerili) and Hiramasa(Seriola lalandi) which categorised as same familiy have different properties, and it is characterized by its fatty flesh. In addition, it has the highest production volume among fish farming in Japan and thus, widely provideded not only in Japan but also overseas.
