Early detection, early treatment. Monitoring residue of medicine, reduction of medicine
1.Checking condition of fish and collecting dead fish by divers
Trained divers dive into fish preserves before feeding. They check swimming condition and appearance of Kurose Buri whether the fish has diseases and report the information with back to the farming staff. If the divers find dead fish, they collect it immediately and identify the cause of death. Diseases can easily be spread to other fish in fish preserves. Divers collect dead fish on regular basis to help prevent the spread of disesas. The activity of divers contributes to the healthy growth of Kurose Buri.
2.Controlling fish diseases
Kurose Suisan has maintained analysis facilities and capability to identify the cause of fish diseases immediately when any diseases happen to Kurose Buri. In the case divers find any abnormalities, we analyze the disease and evaluate effectiveness of medicine at our laboratory. The results of analyses are reported to veterinarians to get instruction of treatment. We engage healthy growth of Kurose Buri to find their abnormality earlier and take actions earlier. The analyses are done by inspectors who are well trained by experts in Tokyo Innovation Center of Nissui. The dedicated action by the divers and pathological examination by the inspectors support condition of Kurose Buri.
3.Reducing usage of medicine
Usage of medicine to fish is dramatically reduced due to improvement of vaccines for fish diseases, regular checks by divers, and pathological examination by inspectors to detect early and treat the diseases.
4.Inspecting residue of medicine before dispatch
Each medicine has washout period, and it is prohibited to dispatch treated fish during the washout period. The washout periods are set by required time of metabolization in order not to remain in fish. Farmers must comply with the washout periods. While farmers are allowed to dispatch fish after washout period in general, we inspect for residue of medicine and then confirm it no longer remains with the fishes body. We comply with all laws, and also confirm safety of Kurose Buri by self-inspection.
